Web Design

A website that works while you're on the job.

Custom-built sites for service businesses. Fast, easy to find on Google, and structured so the people who land on them actually pick up the phone.

What's different

A nice-looking site is table stakes. It has to do a job.

Anyone can make something that looks current. The harder part is building something that changes what happens to your phone.

Built around one action

Every page has a single thing it wants a visitor to do. When a page tries to do five things, it does none of them.

Fast enough to keep them

Slow sites lose visitors before the page even paints. I build lean and measure against Core Web Vitals, not vibes.

Structured for search

Clean headings, proper metadata, local business schema and a sitemap — the groundwork that makes ranking possible.

Designed on a phone first

Most of your visitors are on a phone, often outdoors, often one-handed. That's the version I design first, not last.

Copy included, not outsourced

I write the words. Design can't rescue copy that doesn't say why anyone should pick you over the next quote.

Tracking from day one

Analytics and conversion tracking wired up at launch, so in three months you can say what the site actually did.

30 daysTo the first booked job

On average a new site produces a booked job inside its first month live. Not a lead, not a click. A job on the calendar.

5–20More calls a month

Typical range across web design clients after launch. Where a business lands inside it depends mostly on how much traffic it was already getting. A site with no visitors is a traffic problem before it's a website problem.

My guarantee, in one sentence

A 100% satisfaction guarantee, with unlimited revisions.

Case studies

Three builds, three completely different problems

I don't have a house style I apply to everyone. A lawn care company and a creative agency need opposite things, and pretending otherwise is how you end up with a portfolio that all looks the same.

Buchholz Built LLC website homepage — Interior renovations & remodeling

Interior renovations & remodeling · Macedon, NY

He already had the attention. He had nowhere to send it

Kiel does careful, detail-heavy remodeling work and it had earned him a lot of views on Facebook and a steady stream of referrals. What he didn't have was anywhere for that attention to land.

What I did

  • Built around the three jobs people search for: bathrooms, kitchens, interiors
  • Phone number and free-estimate button on every screen
  • A gallery that lets the work sell itself
  • Local SEO for Macedon and Wayne County

Family Mowers Lawncare website homepage — Lawn care & landscaping

Lawn care & landscaping · Marion, NY

A Google profile full of spam and nowhere to send real customers

Family Mowers came to me because his Google Business Profile was getting spammed and he had nowhere to point an actual customer. He wanted something simple and affordable from someone local. We built a landing page with his services and photos on it, somewhere he could send people, and the calls through Google went up.

What I did

  • Led with the star rating and real review count
  • One-tap calling, because these inquiries happen from a phone
  • Services named the way customers say them: mowing, cleanup, seasonal, mulching
  • Said plainly that they take emergency calls and travel

Leeway Media website homepage — Creative media agency

Creative media agency · Miami, FL

100,000 followers and no way to turn them into work

Leeway produces content for brands, athletes and creators. They had 100,000 followers on Instagram and were averaging over 10 million views a month, and none of it was being converted. All that attention had nowhere to go. We built the site, put the portfolio behind the link in their bio, and the enquiries started almost immediately.

What I did

  • Stripped it back so the reel loads first
  • Four nav items, because more dilutes a portfolio
  • Typography-led, premium without heavy graphics
  • One obvious path to starting a project

The process

How a build actually goes

  1. 01

    A conversation, not a questionnaire

Twenty minutes on what your best customers come to you for, what you're losing jobs to, and what you want more of.

  2. 02

    Design and build

You see it early and often. Revisions are unlimited — I'd rather get it right than get it signed off.

  3. 03

    Launch, then check the numbers

I set up tracking, hand over full ownership, and we look at real data together after 30 days.

Reviews

From the people whose sites these are

Jackson completely went above and beyond. He rebuilt an incredible website for me overnight, improved the current site, and even added extra features at no extra charge. His pricing is very reasonable and it's clear he is ambitious and full of great ideas. Jackson will forever be my web designer — easy 5 stars.

FAQ

Web design questions

How much does a website cost for a small business?

It depends on how many pages you need and whether your photos and copy are ready, and those two things move the number more than anything else. I'd rather give you a real price for your situation than a range that fits nobody. Tell me what you do and what you want the site to do, and you'll have a number by the end of the call.

How long does it take to build a website?

Depends on the build. A simple one can be live and taking calls inside a week. A full business site is usually 2 to 3 weeks, and custom work with animation or video runs longer than that. What slows projects down is almost never the build, it's waiting on content, so I'll tell you up front what I need from you and when.

Why is my website not showing up on Google?

If the site is new it just hasn't been indexed yet, and that takes weeks rather than days. If it's been up a while, usually the pages don't say what you do in the words people type, or your Google profile and your site disagree about your name, address and phone number. Both of those are quick to fix.

Is WordPress or a custom-built website better for a small business?

Depends who's updating it. Most of what I build is custom coded because it's faster and I have full control over how it converts. If you need to change things yourself every day, WordPress suits that better and I'll build on it instead. Speed matters more than people expect, because a slow site loses people before they see anything.

Do I own my website if someone else builds it?

With me, yes. The domain, the hosting and the files are all in your name. You're not locked into me to make changes, and if you want to leave you take the site with you. Ask anyone else you're talking to, because plenty of setups leave the agency holding the keys and you find out when you try to go.

Can I update my website myself after it's built?

Yes. The things you'll want to change, prices, hours, services, photos, are set up to be easy to edit, and I walk you through it on a recorded call you can go back to. Anything structural, just send it to me.

Do I need a new website or just a redesign?

If the site is fast, says the right things and still isn't producing calls, you've got a traffic problem and rebuilding won't fix it. If it's slow, hard to use on a phone, or someone can't tell what you do in five seconds, rebuild it. Send me the link and I'll tell you which, including when the answer is to leave it alone.

What happens after the site launches?

I go through the analytics with you at 30 days and fix anything that isn't working. After that you can run it yourself or put it on a care plan for hosting and updates. No pressure either way.
