Google & Meta Ads

Get more jobs from Google and Meta ads.

I run ads for contractors, trades and local service businesses. You'll see exactly what every lead costs and what it turned into.

How I know this works

I know it works because I've done it for my own business

Moretti Bros started six months ago out of the back of a Honda Civic, with a cheap setup and no customers. It now does $10,000 to $20,000 a month depending on the season. This is the order I did it in, and it's the same order I'd do it in for you.

01From day one

I posted every day

Posting the work from the first day, before there was a website or a customer. We average roughly 100,000 views a month on organic content with no ad spend behind any of it. That on its own carried the business to five figures a month.

I built the site

Once people were paying attention they needed a place to go. Word of mouth and anyone who looked us up hit a site built to take a booking, not to describe the business.

I started running ads

I started running ads once I saw that the organic content was working well. We took what was already converting and put it in front of more eyes, and that got us over five figures a month, every month.

In six months I grew a side hustle into a full operating business.

I did this with the resources that every business has. My work was good, but the advantage that I had was knowing how to market better than my competitors.

What I run

Three channels, picked for your situation

Not all of them at once, and not because they're trendy. Most clients start on one and add a second only once the first is reliably profitable.

Usually first

Google Search

Catching people at the exact moment they're looking for what you sell. Highest intent there is, and where most service businesses should start.

Demand generation

Meta: Facebook & Instagram

Once we knew what was landing organically, we put money behind it. Test for free first, then pay to amplify what's already proven. On campaigns run this way I've seen 5 to 10 times back on ad spend.

Cheapest wins

Retargeting

Most people don't call the first time they visit. Retargeting puts you back in front of the ones who nearly did, for very little money.

What it costs

Management monthly. Ad spend separate, and yours.

Campaign management billed monthly, separate from what you spend with Google or Meta. Scope depends on how many campaigns you're running and how competitive your market is.

Month to month, no minimum term. If the campaigns are working you won't want to leave, and if they aren't, a contract shouldn't be what keeps you.

What I'll want to know on the first call

  1. 1What's an average job worth to you?
  2. 2How many more could you actually take on next month?
  3. 3Where do your best customers come from right now?
  4. 4What have you already tried, and what happened?

Four questions. If the answers don't add up to a case for advertising, that's a useful thing to find out in fifteen minutes rather than three months.

The process

How a campaign gets off the ground

  1. 01

    Check the destination first

Before any spend, we look at where the traffic lands. Ads to a page that doesn't convert is the most common way to waste a budget.

  2. 02

    Start small and learn

A modest test budget for three to four weeks tells us which searches, audiences and messages actually produce calls.

  3. 03

Scale what works, kill what doesn't

Once there's real data, budget moves toward what's producing and away from what isn't. Monthly, in plain language.

FAQ

Advertising questions

How much does Google Ads management cost?

Mine is a flat monthly fee, no setup fee, and it's separate from what you pay Google. Plenty of agencies charge a percentage of your ad spend instead, which means they earn more the more you spend. Worth asking about wherever you're looking, along with whether setup is included, because usually it isn't. I'll give you my number on the call.

What is a minimum budget for Google Ads?

Google doesn't have one. You need enough to get real data instead of noise, and that's usually less than people expect. Plenty of agencies won't take you on under a few thousand a month. I'd rather start small and find out cheap. On my own detailing company I started at $258 for the first week and only scaled once it worked.

What is a good cost per lead?

It only means anything next to what a job is worth to you. The same lead price can be a bargain for one business and ruinous for another, so an industry average won't tell you much. On my own detailing campaigns we were at $12.90 a lead, and it only moved to $14.14 when we took the budget up more than five times. Holding that steady while you scale is the thing to watch.

Do I own my Google Ads account if an agency runs it?

Check this before you sign anything. Plenty of agencies run your campaigns inside an account they own, so when you leave you lose every bit of history you paid for. With me the account is in your name, funded by your card, and I get manager access. If we stop working together you keep all of it.

How fast will I see results from paid ads?

Traffic in a few days. Data worth acting on in three or four weeks. Anyone promising you a transformed business in week one is selling you something.

Will ads work if my website isn't good?

No, and it's the most expensive mistake I see. Paid traffic magnifies whatever your site already does. If it converts at one percent, ads just buy you more of that one percent. I'll tell you if the site needs work before you spend a dollar on ads.

Can an agency guarantee a number of leads?

No, and be careful with anyone who says they can. It depends on your market, your competitors, the season and how well you close. What I will promise is that you see what every lead costs, and if the numbers say your market is too expensive or your margins don't work, I'll tell you and we'll stop.

Am I locked into a contract?

No, month to month. If the campaigns aren't paying for themselves you shouldn't need a contract to keep you, and I shouldn't need one to keep working hard on them.

Not sure whether ads make sense for you?

Let's talk and I'll tell you what you can realistically expect.
